Bryce Dallas Howard: ‘Second pregnancy not easy’

Mel     Jun 16th, 2011     News & Rumours     0 Replies

Bryce Dallas Howard has confessed that she has found her second pregnancy difficult.

The Hereafter actress – who announced last month that she and husband Seth Gabel are expecting their second child – revealed that she has struggled with severe morning sickness this time around.

Howard told Parade: “Everyone has told me that it’s easier, but to be honest, the morning sickness has been so intense. It was the first time as well, but this is sort of a whole [other] level.

“I just keep saying in my head that it means that the baby is really present and healthy. But I would choose this a million times over. I feel so fortunate to be able to have another child.”

Howard also discussed her difficulties with balancing her busy career with motherhood, adding: “It’s really hard. It’s hard for any working parent. I think it’s one of those things that you can only plan so much. You just have to make decisions on a day-to-day basis because life isn’t predictable.”

She has previously revealed that she suffered from post-natal depression after giving birth to son Theo in 2007. (Source)

Ron Howard: My daughter is a great director

Mel     Jun 14th, 2011     News & Rumours     1 Reply

Ron Howard says fans shouldn’t be surprised that his actress daughter Bryce Dallas Howard can direct films.

“She’s already directed some,” Howard said. “She made a great little short a few years ago and also [directed] plays all through college. This is something she hasn’t been very outspoken about pursuing, but she is great with stories, she works wonderfully with writers and is developing projects through her own company, Nine Muses.”

The father-daughter team have joined forces with Canon U.S.A. for “Project Imagin8ion,” a photo contest in which the winning eight entrants will serve as the foundation for a short film to be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, an actress who has appeared in several films including “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” (Read more…)

Ron Howard will exec produce user-generated photo contest ‘Project Imagin8ion’

Bryce Dallas Howard will direct “Project Imagin8ion,” a user-generated photo contest that will serve as the foundation for a short film that her father, Ron Howard, is exec producing.

The contest, which Canon U.S.A. launched May 22, has pulled in over 62,000 entries so far and goes until June 14. Eight winning photos will be selected to inspire the narrative.

Production on “Project Imagin8tion,” which will be shot with Canon EOS DSLR cameras and lenses, will take place during the summer and fall. The short film is expected to debut in mid-November in New York City, where the contest winners will have the opportunity to meet the Howards on the red carpet.

The younger Howard, who previously directed “Orchids” for Glamour Magazine’s shorts series in 2006, told Variety that she expects her father to be “really hands-on, because that’s how he is.”

“It’s an absolutely inspired concept and I’m over the moon to not only direct this film but to work with my father, a true mentor and my personal hero,” she said.

Howard is repped by ICM and Management 360, though it was her father’s agency, CAA, that helped get her the Canon gig. She next stars in DreamWorks drama “The Help” and Summit’s cancer comedy “50/50.” She’ll also make her debut as a producer on Gus Van Sant’s “Restless.”

She also plans to make her feature directing debut with “The Originals,” a drama she co-wrote that remains in development at Imagine Entertainment. (Source)

Bryce Dallas Howard Trying to ‘Keep My Mind Off the Nausea’

Bryce Dallas Howard may be feeling ill from her recently announced second pregnancy, but a person wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at her.

Glowing in a relaxed J. Crew dress that revealed her baby bump, The Help actress 30, says the shimmer is a perk of the otherwise unpleasant experience.

“[The glow] is the one good thing that comes along with this,” Howard told PEOPLE on Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards. “I’m still feeling a little nauseous to be honest.”

The actress was able to divert her attention away by focusing on the excitement of joining her former Eclipse costars, including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, at the event.

“I was most star struck meeting them than anyone else I’ve ever met,” Howard admits. “And still if I see Taylor Lautner on the carpet, I’m like, ‘Ooh, there he is. Is he still underage?’”

“It’s great to be at a place like this where it’s kind of relaxed,” she continued. “But it also gets your adrenaline going and it’s sort of eventful. It keeps my mind off the nausea.”

All sick talk aside, Howard enjoys one of the perks that pregnancy allots.

“I don’t feel judged for gaining weight,” the actress said with a laugh. “I’ve gained some weight.” (Source)
