The trailer for 50/50 has finally been released, be sure to watch it below! Bryce unfortunately only has 2 (short) scenes but she looks beautiful in them – you can also see some captures I made here.
Fabulous news, everyone! It has just been confirmed that Bryce is indeed expecting her second child! Congrats to her and Seth! :)
Bryce Dallas Howard is expanding her brood! A rep for the actress tells Us Weekly exclusively that she is pregnant with her second child.
Married to actor Seth Gabel (Fringe, United States of Tara) since 2006, the Eclipse star, 30, gave birth to their first son, Theo, in February 2007. (Source)
Bryce Dallas Howard has described her cancer comedy 50/50 as a “truthful” viewing experience.
The Twilight Saga star appears alongside Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the upcoming picture, which is based on writer Will Reiser’s diagnosis and battle with the disease.
Speaking to Total Film at the Cannes Film Festival, Howard insisted that the movie would be uplifting, despite the tragic subject matter.
She said: “50/50 is a comedy. I shouldn’t say it’s a buddy comedy because it’s not farcical, and it’s based on a true story, but it’s viewing that experience through a very truthful lens of humour.”
Comparing the project to Restless, her first film as a producer, she added: “I would say Restless is viewing the experience of death through a lens of irreverence and playfulness and innocence, so they’re tonally very different kinds of movies!”
Restless, which sees a girl with terminal illness befriend the ghost of a Japanese World War Two pilot, was shown at Cannes this week.
50/50 is due to hit cinemas on September 30. (Source)
Over 100 HQs and MQs from the Restless press conference and photo call in Cannes have been uploaded to the gallery – enjoy! Bryce looked really beautiful and happy – I love how she did her hair!
“The Help” will hold a premiere in Greenwood, the movie’s director has announced.
The Greenwood Commonwealth reports director Tate Taylor made the announcement this week at the local chamber of commerce’s annual meeting.
The movie, based on Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling novel set in 1960s Jackson, was filmed mostly in Greenwood last summer and will be released Aug. 12. The story explores the relationship between black maids and their white employers, with the emergence of the civil rights movement as a backdrop.
Greenwood officials say they’re currently talking with Disney, the film’s distributor, about setting a date for the premiere.
The movie co-stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard and Octavia Spencer. (Source)
I found this really nice interview in which Gus Van Sant, Restless’ director, talks about Bryce and the role she played in producing and developing the movie:
THR: How did you become involved in the project?
Van Sant: It was something Imagine had sent over that Bryce Dallas Howard had developed for a number of years. Pretty much right when read it, I thought it was a really interesting story and I said yeah I would do it if we could find the financing. We went to Columbia to find the money.
THR: This is the first movie Bryce Dallas Howard has produced. How did she make the transition from actress to producer?
Van Sant: Bryce was there the whole time we were shooting. She was raised in the Howard family, and I think learned a lot of things from her family. She was super professional and level-headed. She always wanted to be part of whatever was going on. She was pretty much the spearhead.
Thanks to my friend Jessica from Miss Winstead for letting me know that Bryce is in Cannes at the moment! Today she attended both the Sleeping Beauty and Restless premieres as well as the Restless dinner (don’t forget that she produced the film!):
Based on an original screenplay by Jason Lew, the Sony Pictures Classics release, which was developed and produced by Bryce Dallas Howard, stars Mia Wasikowska as a terminally ill teenager who falls in love with a boy, played by newcomer Henry Hopper, who likes hanging out at funerals. (Source)
