Clint Eastwood’s “Hereafter,” which stars Matt Damon, Cecile de France, Jay Mohr and Bryce Dallas Howard, has been selected to serve as the closing night film at the 48th New York Film Festival, which runs Sept. 24-Oct. 10.

The supernatural thriller about three people haunted by their mortality will be released by Warners on Oct. 22.

“As so beautifully evident in ‘Hereafter,’ Clint Eastwood continues to make the most daring, provocative films in America,” said Richard Pena, selection committee chair and program director, the Film Society of Lincoln Center. “With his returned appearance here in the New York Film Festival, the director has showcased an opening night film, a centerpiece film and now this year’s closing night with ‘Hereafter,’ a ‘hat trick’ of which we are especially proud.” (Source)

Hereafter centers on three people — a blue-collar American, a French journalist and a London school boy — who are touched by death in different ways. It is scheduled to hit cinemas in the US on October 22.

Actress Bryce Dallas Howard has joined other actresses like Gwyneth Paltrow and Brooke Shields and opens up about her post natal depression.

Bryce put on a fake happy face when she gave birth to her son Theodore Norman, now 3 years old. She pretended that everything was fine on the outside but she was suffering on the inside.

The actress reveals that she had planned for a home birth but due to medical complications had to go to the hospital. She says, “Mostly I recall the moment someone handed my son to me, and I heard shouts of joy, and my father crying, “Bryce, you’re an incredible mother!” She adds, “And then… Nothing. I felt nothing… Someone encouraged me to sit up, and slowly, one by one, friends and family visited. Some were crying, others bursting with joy. Glassy-eyed, I politely listened to their impressions of our new son. I had no impression of my own.” (… Read more)

For the last two years or so, we’ve been reporting on Summit Entertainment’s Untitled Cancer Comedy, which was formerly titled I’m With Cancer. The movie finally has an official title: Live With It, clever eh?

The film is an autobiographical story based on the real experiences of screenwriter Will Reiser, a producer on HBO’s Da Ali G Show and VH1’s Best Week Ever, who was diagnosed with cancer in his mid-20s and successfully battled the disease over several years. Directed by Wackness helmer Jonathan Levine, the film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a 25-year-old who learns he has a rare form of terminal cancer. (Source)

She’s always up for a good time, and last night (July 6) Bryce Dallas Howard was spotted at the Moves Summer 2010 event in New York City. The “Eclipse” actress looked beautiful as she arrived at Studio 450, sporting a pretty black dress with gold accents and black heels.
